Helpful Phrases for Parents


If you are practicing at home with your kids, these videos teach some common phrases to help you get going and reinforce what they are learning in class.

When you are comfortable with these phrases, you can try speak as much Spanish as possible, while learning together.


El cuerpo

Learn the parts of the body. Try to listen closely and repeat the phrases after hearing them. 

El perro

Sam the dog explores the world through his five senses. 

Key vocabulary:

ve – sees
escucha – hears
huele – smells


Mía se cae

Mía gets hurt riding her mom, but her mom helps her. 

Key Vocabulary:

duele – hurts
venda/curita – bandaid
rodilla – knee
llora – cries
le da – gives to him/her

Sara va al médico

Sara doesn’t feel good and her mom takes her to the doctor. 

Key Vocabulary:

le duele – hurts him/her
me duele – hurts me
el/la médico/a – the doctor
la garganta – throat
la cabeza – head
